Carpe Diem Mazunte Casitas & Villas

We stayed at Carpe Diem for 8 nights in Mazunte. We loved it here, and will definitely be returning. Pools are fantastic with nice lounge sofas to relax in. The rooms are kept very clean. The staff is always there and ready to attend to you. Location requires a little bit of an uphill walk but honestly almost everywhere does in Mazunte. It perfectly situated between the town and the two main beaches. There is an amazing rooftop where we enjoyed the sunrises. Food was also delicious and fresh.

We had an absolutely fantastic dining experience at Carpe Diem! The food was by far the best we’ve had in Mexico so far – so incredibly flavorful and thoughtfully prepared. I had an omelette with mushrooms and cheese, a banana-strawberry-yogurt smoothie, and later a Greek salad. Everything was absolutely delicious! I also got to try the summer rolls, which were perfect – the peanut sauce was an absolute dream. The coffee was excellent as well. The variety on the menu is impressive, and the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. We sat in the gorgeous courtyard surrounded by hammocks, string lights, and the soothing sound of a small waterfall – such a peaceful and luxurious atmosphere. The prices are very fair for Mazunte, especially considering the high quality of the food. We were completely thrilled and can wholeheartedly recommend Carpe Diem. We might even come back – it was just so wonderful!

We had our wedding here last month and had the most wonderful experience. Reyna and the whole staff were absolutely lovely and so accommodating to us and all of our guests. Reyna worked with our wedding planner to create the best event and also scheduled us fun activities to do on the side. The food and drinks were incredible. We loved relaxing by the pool and eating all the amazing food including the best pasta! The family of cats was definitely a highlight. Thank you Carpe Diem for hosting us we can’t wait to come back.

Carpe Diem was an absolute gem for us! We went there for Brunch. I had the vegetarian burrito bowl and the summer rolls – everything was fresh, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely delicious. The peanut sauce was a real highlight! I really appreciated how friendly and knowledgeable the staff were when answering my questions about vegan options. The courtyard is a beautiful place to relax – with hammocks, string lights, and the soothing sound of a small waterfall. Such a lovely atmosphere that made the visit feel truly special. The prices are totally reasonable for Mazunte. If you’re looking for great food in a relaxing setting, I can highly recommend Carpe Diem!

I'm so happy to see that Carpe Diem gets mostly 5 stars! They deserve it. First of all people, this is a Women Owned Business!! They have put a lot of effort into insuring that their guests have a memorable stay. Upon checking in, we were welcomed and shown to our villa. We were there for a wedding and reserved Villa Amanecer which is a beautiful 4 bedroom 2 bath villa. It accommodated our family beautifully. The villa was clean and well appointed, bathroom had towels, shampoo and conditioner. We had a 5 gallon jug of purified water delivered daily as the weather was very warm and we were drinking a lot. All bedrooms have A/C which made our stay extra comfortable as it was quite hot and humid when we were there. Lissie and Reyna, the owners, could not have been more accommodating and personable. I can't say enough about them. I felt like we were staying with friends. Carpe Diem is located up a hill, about a 10 minute walk to the beach. It's a nice walk. The views from the kitchen in the villa are of the ocean and it was so nice to wake up to ocean views every day. We had a big private deck that was perfect for hanging out and we had a view of the pool. We ate mostly ALL of our meals at Carpe Diem and the food was delicious. We had 6 children with us and they were constantly "special" ordering and the extremely friendly and good cooks accommodated their every need. On one of our first days there, the grandma of the bride had a medical emergency, and Lissie was right there helping out with contacting a doctor, translating, and support. As if she isn't busy enough! Another unexpected bonus was that Lissie has 3 wonderful children of her own who perfectly integrated themselves with our gang and all the children played and had the best time together. I also want to note that one of us got a massage and it was said that his massage was one of the best he's ever had! Thank you Lissie, Reyna and your wonderful staff for the best week ever

We had a wonderful experience staying at Casitas Carpe Diem. The hotel is located a short but steep walk uphill from town/ beach and is a true haven. The rooms were beautifully decorated and comfortable. We love animals so we were very excited about all the friendly cats living at the property. Food was the best we’ve had in mazunte (and we are very critical foodies), we ate at the hotel whenever we could. Staff was wonderful and very helpful. I would have loved to stay longer and would recommend this hotel to everyone going to mazunte.

Great hotel with really nice balconies up in the trees. Room was large and bed was comfy and large. Could have provided a blanket so we could have the AC on at night. Staff friendly and helpful. Onsite restaurant also great. Main pool could have been cleaner. Note this property is up a hill. Its only a 5 min walk up the hill but it's very steep.
